{"id":212,"date":"2013-02-28T23:52:18","date_gmt":"2013-03-01T04:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/triplescomputers.com\/blog\/?p=212"},"modified":"2013-02-28T23:52:18","modified_gmt":"2013-03-01T04:52:18","slug":"solution-outlook-error-outlook-data-file-could-not-be-accessed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.triplescomputers.com\/blog\/casestudies\/solution-outlook-error-outlook-data-file-could-not-be-accessed\/","title":{"rendered":"Solution: Outlook Error: &#8220;Outlook Data File Could Not Be Accessed&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a pretty annoying little problem that I&#8217;ve seen at least a couple of times over the past several months.<\/p>\n<p>It occurs when you attempt to sync within Outlook, normally following a data transfer or other procedure that involves bringing an existing .PST file into play without jumping through the hoops of importing the data into a new .PST shell.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is actually easy, though it&#8217;s not necessarily easy to discover. \u00a0All you have to do to solve the problem is <strong>select the folder to deliver mail to (Inbox) for each email account. \u00a0<\/strong>Under the <em>Account Settings<\/em> dialog box within Outlook, there is a\u00a0<em>Change Folder\u00a0<\/em>button near the bottom. \u00a0This is where the setting is changed.<\/p>\n<p>But what if you can&#8217;t even open Outlook? \u00a0You can still access the mail settings without running the program. \u00a0The easiest way to do this is to click Start &gt; Start Search &gt; type\u00a0<strong>mail\u00a0<\/strong>and then open the <em>Mail\u00a0<\/em>shortcut that appears under the <i>Control Panel\u00a0<\/i>heading in the search results. \u00a0This opens the standard Outlook mail dialog box as if you were running Outlook.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a pretty annoying little problem that I&#8217;ve seen at least a couple of times over the past several months.
